” Exposition project workshop:“Threads of invisible tracks”-Female paths of migration”
4th July 2014-The Hague
“Threads of invisible tracks” -Female paths of migration”
Have you ever sensed the intuition to connect a feeling or memory to a color, material or shape
This is a creative and practical workshop addressed to women who experienced the process of migration.
We will have the possibility to share a common fabric of jute and embroider our personal tracks of our migration inner journey, guided by some specific topics like: roots, nostalgia and new identity. We will creatively choose colors, threads, directions, tensions, materials, words and small objects that narrate and give shape to our sensations, memories, and feelings regarding our migrating experience. We can make our threads looser or we can stretch them, we can knot, go further and come back; all concrete actions that do not require words. At the end we will have colorful and unexpected tracks of our personal migrating journey connected with tracks of other women.
Together we can create a common tapestry-map and share both the process and the result. This is at the same time a group and individual experience.
To attend the workshop it is not necessary to have experiences of sewing.
