2012   March    DELFT- WERKEN MET KLEI: DE RELATIE TUSSEN JOU EN MIJ

From the contact style to the relation ‘You and Me”-Practical workshop with clay

The topic of this workshop is the relation between “You and Me”.

The purpose of the workshop is to discover, be conscious and modulate, in a creative and playful way, our relational contact stiles.

Through the clay it is possible to enjoy different tactile and gestural experiences that are relational ways to take contact with: our partners, our children and all the people and situations we meet in our life.

The interaction with the clay is a real dialogue, gestural free dialogue, through which participants can shape pleasant and unpleasant feelings, memories, emotions and thoughts.

Participants will be guided and receive, according to their needs, feedback by the instructor individually and in group, during all the most important phases of the workshop.

In a first step, we will explore and use the clay in a free way, to experience the pleasure and the freedom of moulding. The hands and the whole body talk with the clay. It is not important to produce a specific object but letting the shape arising from the gestures.

In the second step the participants are guided in shaping an imaginary personal ‘‘picture’’ of the relation between “You and Me”.

That will be the concrete discovery of the personal way in which we live our relation, in terms of: personal space, the way in which we occupy the other’s space, requesting of giving support, listening and being listened, empathy and other important themes that can arise from the experience.

We will take some time to talk together about it and have some starting point of reflection and transformation.

  • To participate to the workshop it is not necessary to be an artist or to know the work with clay.
  • The workshop has not a therapeutic goal. Participants: minimum 4 maximum 10, from 9 years old to all the ages.Language: English
